You will get hot, sweaty and dirty on this Trek, so light-colored, breathable, cotton or linen fabrics will work best. Man-made fibers (polyester, rayon and fleece) are a fire hazard and may chafe, so should be avoided. Below are some trek pictures showing dress that would be welcome and appropriate on trek. Scroll down to see the dress guidelines that we are asking you to follow.
A skirt or dress that goes to about 8 inches from the ground
Bloomers that go below the knee, and/or leggings**
** Bloomers can be made from scrubs or pj pants. We suggest bringing both as the bloomers will be cooler in warm weather, but if it is still chilly, the leggings might be nice to have. Just keep in mind that the purpose of these is comfort and modesty.
A long sleeved button up shirt - NO TSHIRTS
An apron (with pockets if possible)
A bonnet or wide-brimmed straw sun hat with ties -- (NO BASEBALL HATS!!)
Socks (wicking fabric such as climalite or drifit, or wearing a thick sock over a thin sock as a liner is suggested to avoid blisters)
Comfortable, broken in athletic shoes
** Please be mindful that light colors are see-through when wet, and take appropriate precautions. (a cami or tank could be worn underneath shirts, etc...)
